The Colours of Marzipan

The Colours of Marzipan

Today’s post was supposed to be about something totally different. About something conceptual and intelligent and … stuff. Well, maybe not quite, but I do have the posts mapped out some time in advance, so that I can plan and don’t wake up post-less and panicking in the mornings.

I was walking in Kaubamaja (an Estonian department store) yesterday, all smug about my superior strategic skills, when I saw these: bars and bars of marzipan, in every imaginable colour. Pink and yellow, powder blue, turquoise, leaf green, forest green… And just like that, all my plans went out of the window, because obviously I had to blog about this as soon as possible.

It’s not only about the colour, though – I am a long-time fan of marzipan. In fact, I like almonds in every form: whole almonds, chopped almonds, spiced almonds, almond milk, almond flour, almond cakes… and did I mention marzipan?

The bars I bought yesterday are by an Estonian company Sweets House, although I’m sure that in the run-up to Easter you can find something similar everywhere. If you are looking for an antidote to the one-hour-less sleep thing of tonight, this might do the trick. Just stare until you feel better.

and the issue with leaving a comment is that there is no space that says “Name” and no space that says “email”…I typed them both in blindly and kept hitting enter until I got to the big box that lets you leave a comment…..
