TagSummer Favourites 2025
With temperatures reaching almost 30 degrees Celsius in Luxembourg today its perhaps premature to pronounce summer to be over, but for an Estonian like me, September is definitely an autumn month. So let’s take a moment to look back to my summer favourites: most of these are not limited to hot weather, in case you are interested in trying them out. Not all are new launches either, as I am trying to appreciate things that have stood the test of time rather than always chasing newness.
A Dress for the Estonian Summer
You know I distrust any kind of absolute advice and try to avoid giving it. But seriously, unless you still have your holidays coming up, stop buying summer clothes NOW. Even if you do have holidays coming up – and mine are currently ongoing, so I know of wh..
A Modern Swimsuit
I’m sure you know that Nora Ephron quote: “Oh, how I regret not having worn a bikini for the entire year I was twenty-six. If anyone young is reading this, go, right this minute, put on a bikini, and don’t take it off until you’re thirty-four,” she says in I..
Public Service Announcement: Posting Will Be Erratic
Well, my posting is always erratic, but in the next two weeks it’ll be even more so. I’m in the Estonian countryside for my summer holidays, with only occasional Internet access.

Holiday in a Warm Climate: The Things
You have probably encountered people who enjoy planning their holidays to a somewhat ridiculous degree. You may even be such a person yourself. But did you know that the are also people who enjoy planning what they will PACK for their holiday? No? Hi, I’m An..
Holiday in a Warm Climate: The Rules
Everybody loves holidays. Considering this universal love for holidays, it’s funny how often we are in fact disappointed in them. We over or under pack, we try to cram too many activities into one week, we have unrealistic expectations and snap at our family..
Summer Shower Gel Update
I have a post about body lotions and creams in the making (as requested by Sophie), but the truth is I’m so much better with shower gels than I am with body moisturisers. Despite my dry skin, I often don’t bother with the latter and when I do, I want it to w..
10 Summer Reading Recommendations
Estonian women’s magazine Anne & Stiil recently asked me to recommend summer reads for their June issue. Understandably but unfortunately, I was limited to books that have been translated into Estonian. That meant I had to leave out a few I would have liked ..
Things I Want to Wear: Zara Girl
It’s spring in Brussels at last, or one could even say that we have by-passed spring for the moment and gone straight for summer. It really is exceptionally warm and lovely after months of horribleness. This will of course pass quickly, so I wanted to take a..
August Sun
Maybe it’s just me, but the sun in August seems different. Lighter and brighter somehow than in the early summer, making everything look faded and a bit washed out. Or maybe the sun is the same, but everything is indeed bleached by the suns of June and July…
